Out with the old. In with the new.

“Each new year, we have before us a brand new book containing 365 blank pages.  Let us fill them with all the forgotten things from last year-the words we forgot to say, the love we forgot to show, and the charity we forgot to offer.” –  Peggy Toney Horton

From this quote, I formed my theme for the new year, 2017.  Years ago I resolved to never create another failed resolution.  Now I mark the befinning of the year with a theme, a general mindset to maintain focus on the things that matter most.  Naturally, I plan to continue building my bakery, covering new and old territory.  However, I desire to be a better human being this year more than a better business person.  When we focus on humanity more than business, everyone wins.  Of course, it matters that more individuals learn about my lemon bars, but there is a deeper calling on my life.  A strong will that I cannot ignore yearns for me to pour into hearts in contrast to promoting a “hustle” (I’m being honest).  Maybe I’ve matured.  Maybe it’s a revelation.  Know that you will begin to notice small yet significant changes to this website reflecting this year’s overarching theme:  gratitude, give and grow.
